The first gif was created for one of my journal entries focused Sonic and Elise's relationship; the rest were created specifically for this community.

Based on the "Sonic and Elise in the Forest" cutscene, my favorite scene from Sonic 06.

Brief description: Sonic carries a downcast Elise to a grove with a beautiful flowering apple tree. Consists of 7 Gifs (480x270). Gifset and more detailed alt text for each respective image is behind the cut.

( I've never seen so many flowers before! )

Okay I know how to embed an image now, but I don't know where to host my gifs!

Now we're getting onto fun territory. So, let's say you've been gifmaking on tumblr. Then you can use those same URLs to import your work to DW.

"I'm trying to stop depending on tumblr. Where can I back up my stuff?"

I recommend having at least two backups: one for you and one in the cloud in case you lose access to that. Personally, I prefer using Squidge Images for fannish stuff, but you can also host some images on DW.

"What?"

Yep, you heard me. Every account has a different quota: Free accounts can upload 500 MB of images, paid accounts can upload 1.5 GB, and premium paid accounts can upload 3 GB.
Depending on your needs and wants, you may want to acquire DW paid services. You'll also be helping keep the lights on!

Now you know the gist of images on DW and how to make the most out of it. I can't wait to see what wonderful things you will share with this comm.

If no fandom applies (for example for random animal gifs), use the following tag: no fandom + any of the following that apply:

no fandom: animals
no fandom: celebrity
no fandom: music video

Use any of the following warnings if they apply to your post:

warning for: flashing gif
warning for: NSFW content
warning for: blood/gore/body horror
warning for: eyestrain

Use any of the following medium tags: if they apply:

m: music video
m: tv show
m: movie
m: documentary
m: video game

Further guidelines may be added as needed. Please check this post whenever you're posting a new gif or gifset to this comm.

Useful links:

Posting Guidelines
- Gifs and gifsets should be shared behind a cut. If your gif is bigger than 500px wide, code it to display no bigger than 500px wide
- Add descriptions to your images. Even a simple description is better than nothing
- Tag your posts
- Post your own gifs only. No fannish labor theft here.
- Warn for flashing gifs
- Warn for NSFW content
- Warn for slurs in gifs

What's allowed:
- Gifs and gifsets you've made
- NSFW gifs are allowed
- All fandoms except for those in the NO list

What's not allowed:
- Gifs and gifset from any Harry Potter or JKR property
- Hate speech of any kind
- Racism (i.e. whitewashing of characters of color)
- Gifs of real life gore (i.e. animal harm or snuff videos)
